Courses for working with schools

Over the past few years, there has been more importance placed on the attainment of pupils in schools.  Exclusion figures, young people not in education, employment or training, waiting lists, higher thresholds, changes in budgets all place barriers in the way of improving the support available for children with social, emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties.

We here at The Mentoring School offer a range of low cost solutions to allow you to maximise the impact of your work.

For a low-fee you can deliver our recognised qualifications to the schools and even use this as an additional income stream.

Imagine the effect on the children and young people you work with by training schools in addressing social, emotional and mental health difficulties (including attachment problems), how to work with refugees, how to support low level mental health problems, how children learn a second language, managing anger or even helping children in care to support each other.

The impact of our courses

Our founder recently gave a presentation at the North East Educational Psychology Conference on the impact of our courses, here is a 10 minute version:

The Trainer courses available

We offer licences in the following tried and tested courses for low costs:

  • National Children’s Mentor Qualification (for primary),
  • National Young Person’s Mentor Qualification (for secondary/FE),
  • Mentoring refugees in schools,
  • Supporting children learning a second language,
  • Supporting low-level Mental Health in schools,
  • Anger management,
  • Peer mentoring.

We are proud of the fact that our licence fees are so low you only have to fill one course a year to be making a profit!

Written by a behaviour expert and teacher who has worked with thousands of children and young people, these courses are being used in nearly 1 in 200 schools and colleges in England alone.

“We want to improve the support available in schools and maximise the impact our courses have on vulnerable children and young people, the only way to do that is to make our licences available at a price that is negligible for a service provider.” Richard Daniel Curtis, Founder
